Choose your Report Type…
A Standard Report is a 4-5 page analysis that aims to provide an objective overview of your script, highlighting the reader’s first impressions, including perceived strengths and weaknesses, and also delving into the whys and wherefores. The report also offers some ideas on how the screenplay might benefit from specific developments in plot, character and/or structure.
A Full Report is a total of 8 pages minimum, offering an in-depth examination of perceived strengths and weaknesses and a range of suggestions on how to enrich your story.
The Full Report will list any distracting formatting issues that occur in your script, and will also address any errors in spelling, grammar and/or punctuation that detract from the reading experience. Both sections should prove useful for your future drafts and future work in general.
The amount of detail contained in an MH Full Report will give you a genuine stab at transforming your work into a finely polished, well structured final draft screenplay.
Choose the Style of your Report…
As certain genres are biased toward certain story elements, an MH Breakdown Report may be uneven. For example, character development is generally not as important in action films as it is in drama, and structure is not as important in an arthouse film as it is in a thriller. If you like, MH can discuss only the elements that stand out as being key to the development of your story.
A Breakdown Analysis is broken down by Premise/Plot/Structure, Characters, Visual Grammar/Tone/Dialogue and Other which, depending on the script, might contain notes on originality, pace, budget and/or potential in the marketplace.
In an Automatic Analysis, the reader merely puts down his thoughts as they come to him.
As MH is geared towards writers, synopses do not come as standard. If you'd like us to include one however, just mention it when you submit your request and we'll include it at no extra cost. Please note that this service does not apply to Surface Reports.
